Hello 6th graders & families, and welcome to our 6th grade language arts class website. This site will be the central source of communication about our class, including updates, activities, learning goals, due dates, and projects. You can download assignments if you are absent, find some fabulous book recommendations, or simply keep up with what we are doing each week by following this blog.

A little bit about me…this will be my first year teaching at Merrill Middle School, which I’m SO excited about. However, the school is not new to me; I spent my middle school years as a student at Merrill over 15 years ago! After teaching 5 years in Cedar Rapids, and 3 years in Des Moines, it’s great to be a Mustang again!

I have 2 small children who keep me very busy. If I happen to find some free time, I love to run, travel, and enjoy nothing more than getting lost in an amazing book.

I cannot wait to spend the year sharing my passion for reading & writing with you. Get ready for an exciting year full of challenges, growth, and fun!
