Hello friends, I am hoping that the lack of comments on this reading challenge means you have found books to read that are not on the list. IT BETTER NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE NOT READING (and yes, you can imagine me yelling this, and maybe tossing a portfolio down the hallway for old times sake). I am in the middle of the book Okay For Now and I want you to all go get a copy and read it because it’s SO good. I think you would all enjoy it (even you without a soul…you know who you are 😉 The main character Doug is  tough and sassy (which you know is my favorite kind of character), who has a really hard life that he is trying to deal with. His dad just moved the family to a new town, and Doug is trying to overcome the negative impression that people have about him due to his “criminal minded” older brother. There are lots of surprises throughout the story,like why Doug won’t play on the “skins” side in basketball–it’s more shocking than you can imagine, and the narrator talks to you the reader which definitely makes you feel a part of the story. I know that summer is almost over (NOOOOOO), but do yourself a favor by finding one last read before it’s over!
